As the Texans (7-5) hit the road for the first time since early November to take on the Jets (4-8) in East Rutherford, New Jersey, football fans eagerly anticipate the matchup. While New York has experienced a losing streak of five games, Houston has emerged victorious in four out of its last five. Here are five key elements to watch out for as the teams clash at Noon CT inside MetLife Stadium.
- C.J.’s Command – Quarterback C.J. Stroud has been a force to reckon with, leading the NFL in passing yards and ranking second in fan votes for the Pro Bowl. Under his leadership, the Texans have secured seven wins in 2023. Stroud faces a formidable challenge against the Jets’ defense, which ranks third in the NFL for fewest passing yards allowed. Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh acknowledges the test that Stroud presents for his team, emphasizing his confidence and progression on the field.
“He stands back there, he’s big, he’s strong, he’s confident,” Saleh said. “You could see him progressing and he plays fast, like I said, he plays confident. He’s only going to get better. They put a lot on his shoulders. With regards to the pass game, I think they’re way up there from a pass game standpoint, but he’s an impressive young man.”
