Two San Francisco 49ers players have clinched nominations for the prestigious Angry Run from the electrifying NFC Championship Game against the Detroit Lions this past weekend.
The standout performers are none other than running back Christian McCaffrey and the indomitable tight end George Kittle.
Adding to the list of nominees is Lions offensive tackle Penei Sewell, whose impactful block for running back David Montgomery left cornerback Charvarius Ward on the receiving end.
McCaffrey’s nomination stems from a powerful stiff-arm executed on Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson during the second quarter when the 49ers were trailing 14-0.
NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt passionately remarked, “It’s like McCaffrey physically shut his big mouth… He’s looking up at the sky, and McCaffrey keeps running.”
Kittle, on the other hand, earned his nomination for an impressive pancake block on Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson during the same drive.
“The Niners are different. The Niners don’t mess around,” exclaimed Brandt.
