Texas Tech football: Patrick Mahomes teases Red Raider deal with Adidas
On Sunday, Texas Tech football fans received a much-needed morale boost. Just a day after the Red Raiders’ disappointing loss to BYU, which brought their season record to 3-5, the legendary Patrick Mahomes II hinted at an exciting new partnership between Texas Tech and Adidas.
Mahomes, a spokesperson for Adidas, took to Instagram and other social media platforms to share photos of himself proudly wearing an Adidas shirt with the iconic Double T logo and “Adidas” written below. The caption on each post read, “Coming July 2024.”
This announcement is as close to an official confirmation of the Tech-Adidas deal as we’ve seen so far. It raises speculation about the potential impact of Mahomes’ association with Adidas on Texas Tech. Mahomes already has his own brand and clothing line under the Adidas umbrella, leading to speculation that Tech could become the first athletic department to have its apparel supplied by the Mahomes brand.
