‘Nanny Cam’ Footage of Prison Boss Abusing Her Husband to be Featured in Documentary
Footage from a ‘nanny cam’ capturing former prison boss Sheree Spencer abusing her husband will be showcased in an upcoming documentary. Convicted abuser Sheree Spencer was unaware that her husband, Richard Spencer, had documented her physical and verbal assaults using a security camera installed in their home.

Sheree Spencer, who subjected her husband to a relentless campaign of abuse, was finally exposed by the ‘nanny cam’ footage. The documentary reveals the horrifying extent of her actions, which took place in their seven-bedroom home in Bubwith, East Yorkshire.
One particularly brutal incident involved Sheree beating Richard with a wine bottle, causing permanent disfigurement to his ear.
In March 2023, Spencer was sentenced to four years in prison by Judge Kate Rayfield at Hull Crown Court. Judge Rayfield described the case as “the worst instance of controlling and coercive behaviour” she had encountered.
Unbeknownst to Sheree, the security camera intended to monitor their three young children also captured the abuse she inflicted on Richard. This evidence played a crucial role in her conviction and will now be a key element of the documentary, bringing further awareness to the severity of domestic abuse.
