DALLAS (AP) — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a stellar performance with 34 points, leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a crucial 100-96 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night. This win evens their Western Conference semifinal series at 2-2.
Despite the Mavericks setting a franchise playoff record with 13 blocks, the Thunder found their rhythm when it mattered most. Through three quarters, Gilgeous-Alexander was the primary scorer, but his teammates stepped up in the final minutes.
Chet Holmgren and Lu Dort nailed critical 3-pointers late in the game. Jalen Williams sealed the deal with a driving dunk, giving the Thunder a 94-91 lead with 1:29 remaining. Dallas players and coaches protested for a double-dribble call, but crew chief Zack Zarba confirmed post-game that officials made the correct no-call, as Williams never fully controlled the ball before resuming his dribble.
